This storytime is dedicated to my fabulous summer intern, Amanda, whose idea it was and who loves the book, I'm Mighty! and knows how to fold origami boats. Books: I'm MIGHTY! by Kate and Jim McMullan. Tugboats actually power those enormous ships into port. Get it? VERY small boats moving VERY large ships? Now why would this be a hit with the pre-ks? Class Three at Sea b y Julia Jarman. Very lighthearted tale of a school outing interrupted by an encounter with unfriendly pirates. The ending says it all: "So if ever your class goes to sea, remember what happened to Class Three. And if pirates board, don't make a fuss... just make friends with an octopus!" A bit forced.
